Harsh Realities From Rewatching AEW All In 2025

AEW All In: Texas 2025 took place one year ago, and with AEW on the road to the 2026 version of the event, it provides a good opportunity to wind back the tape and take a look at the biggest AEW PPV of last year. This was a great event with plenty of memorable moments; Adam Page’s wild title win, Toni Storm defeating Mercedes Mone, The Young Bucks being ousted from power, and more, but not everything has necessarily aged well.

When looking back at All In 2025 it is clear to see that there are some harsh realities to realize when rewatching the show. Whether it be poor booking decisions, victories that led to nowhere, or something more, the power of hindsight has retroactively impacted some moments from the event.

Adam Cole Has Still Not Returned To AEW

• Adam Cole relinquished the TNT Title at All In.
• Cole was talked out of officially retiring from the ring.
• There is no timeline on Adam Cole’s return to wrestling.

The last few years of Adam Cole’s professional wrestling career have been unfortunately mired by injuries, and his latest concussion was one too far. At All In Texas: 2025, Cole’s planned TNT Title defense against Kyle Fletcher was canceled, with Cole emerging to reveal that he needed to give up the title and may never wrestle again in a heartbreaking and emotional moment. Unfortunately, there has still been no significant update on Cole’s condition and no indications that he’ll be back in the ring.

Rewatching AEW All In last year provides fans with the harsh reality that we may never see Cole back between the ropes. Of course, many wrestlers have come back from career-ending injuries, so there will always remain a hope that he can become healthy enough to one day return to AEW.

The Opps Faction Is A Shadow Of It’s Former Self

• The Opps defended the AEW World Trios Titles at All In 2025.
• Samoa Joe’s group was presented as a badass faction.
• One year later, The Opps are irrelevant in AEW.

You’d be forgiven if you had no clue that The Opps were still a thing in AEW given how far the group has dropped. One year ago, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata of The Opps opened All In: Texas 2025 with a banger, successfully defending the AEW World Trios Titles against The Death Riders, before going on to turn heel and take over the main event scene later in the year.

However, the inclusion of Hook, the AEW exit of Hobbs to WWE, the various absences from Samoa Joe, and a lack of TV time have led to The Opps losing all momentum and standing in the promotion. Anthony Bowens and Action Andretti were recently announced as being members of The Opps, but they’ve had very minimal presence or importance for a while.

Athena’s Casino Gauntlet Win Didn’t Lead To A Full-Time AEW Run

• Athena won the Casino Gauntlet at All In 2025.
• She unsuccessfully challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Title.
• Athena is still confined to the ROH brand.

There is no denying that Athena is the best part of the Ring Of Honor brand amidst her “forever reign” as the ROH Women’s World Champion, holding the gold for over 1350 days and counting, defending the gold an unprecedented 41 times in the process, on top of 42 “Proving Ground” matches too. However, she is far too talented to continue wrestling in the lesser important of Tony Khan’s promotions and she has more than proved herself of being worthy of a full-time spot on the AEW roster.

At AEW All In: Texas 2025, Athena’s victory in the Casino Gauntlet match looked to open the door for her to become an AEW regular… only to lose her AEW Women’s World Title shot to Toni Storm. She has competed sporadically in AEW in the time since such in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament and Owen Hart Cup, but it simply is not enough. Athena’s fortunes didn’t change, and rewatching All In 2025 is a reminder.

The Undisputed AEW Championship Was Meaningless

• Kazuchika Okada defeated Kenny Omega.
• Okada became AEW’s first ever Undisputed Champion.
• The concept of the championship made no sense and AEW scrapped it.

Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada defeated International Champion Kenny Omega at AEW All In: Texas 2025, winning both titles which were then unified to become the “Undisputed” Championship. Okada carried this title, defending it for a few months, until he then began defending the two original titles separately – which left fans wondering what on earth the Undisputed Championship was even for.

Okada would eventually lose both the championships; the Continental Title to Jon Moxley and the International Title to Konosuke Takeshita, with the Undisputed belt ceasing to exist. It was a nice idea and concept, but it didn’t work. Rewatching All In 2025 is a harsh reminder that the match between Okada & Omega was ultimately a little pointless given the resulting fate of the Undisputed Title.

Adam Page’s AEW World Title Reign Wasn’t Amazing

In the main event of AEW All In: Texas 2025, Adam Page defeated Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship in an all-timer match and moment, which existed amongst the greatest AEW moments ever. However, the hindsight now attached to this title change provides the harsh reality that Page’s reign fell below expectations.

He had some good matches with Kyle Fletcher & MJF but neither of the storylines attached to these matches was particularly enthralling. From there, Page feuded with former ally Samoa Joe, who turned heel and cheated his way to dethroning Page in a surprising but underwhelming moment at Full Gear 2025. Unfortunately for Page, his incredible title win was the peak of his time as champion.
