The once popular star has been engulfed in controversy over the last few years, plus suffered from long-term injuries, so things haven’t quite gone to plan throughout her career in AEW as time has pressed on. However, there has now appeared a path for a shocking return for Britt Baker, and one which could reignite her career in AEW.

Britt Baker Has Been Away From AEW For Nearly Two Years

Britt Baker might be someone with a lot of positive history in AEW, but she is someone whose name has been showered in unfortunate controversy. Baker has been involved in multiple reported backstage disagreements and arguments, including the likes of former rival Thunder Rosa and MJF. Upon her most recent comeback to AEW, which took place at the back end of 2024, she was showered in even more controversy when Tony Khan booked a feud between Baker and Serena Deeb.

After Baker defeated Penelope Ford on the November 13 edition of Dynamite, Deeb came out to confront Baker. However, in a very awkward moment, Baker enthusiastically proclaimed “no one cares” to the camera. This was a moment that felt as though a dejected individual had lost her spark, becoming frustrated and disenchanted with her booking. No, it wasn’t part of a storyline, it was a moment that halted Baker’s AEW career indefinitely. We have not seen Baker on AEW programming since this night, and despite rumors of a potential exit occurring over the last couple of years, she remains a member of the AEW roster. Wrestlers everywhere have taken part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge to raise awareness and money, the likes of Kevin Owens made sure to speak on Rebel on the SummerSlam 2026 post-show after his return at the show, and AEW announced a special episode of Dynamite in September, called Rebel Heart, which will honor Rebel.
