Jackson Drake Challenging For North American Title, Vanity Project Challenging For NXT Tag Titles At Heatwave PLE
Jackson Drake and Vanity Project are chasing after gold.
There was a singles match between Shiloh Hill and Jackson Drake advertised for the August 18th NXT on The CW.
The stipulation was that if Drake won, he would challenge Myles Borne for the NXT North American Championship at the Heatwave Premium Live Event, and his faction mates in Vanity Project, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes, would be challenging Borne and Tavion Heights for the NXT Tag Team Titles at Heatwave.
Before the bout, the double champion Myles Borne approached Shiloh and informed him that he spoke to NXT General Manager Robert Stone and got it made official that if Hill won, he would get the North American Title shot at Heatwave.
During the match, Vanity Project got involved, but the referee ejected them from ringside. There was a point when Drake fell into the referee, and then NARAKU came out from under the ring. He misted Hill, and then Drake went on to capitalize and secure the win.

- NXT Women’s Championship: Kendal Grey (c) vs. Kelani Jordan
- Title Unification Match — NXT Women’s North American & WWE Women’s Speed Championships: ZARIA (North American) vs. Wren Sinclair (Women’s Speed)
- NXT North American Championship: Myles Borne (c) vs. Jackson Drake (w/ Myka Lockwood)
- NXT Tag Team Championship: Myles Borne & Tavion Heights (c) vs. Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes)
