What CM Punk And Kevin Owens Said To Each Other Off-Mic On SmackDown

Friday’s SmackDown featured a confrontation that will inevitably lead to a match many fans thought we might never see. Kevin Owens is the number one contender for the WWE Title, and he has to face CM Punk to get it. That’s why the two spoke to each other on-screen for the first time, but fans weren’t privy to everything they said to one another.

What Was Said Off The Mic

After airing their feelings, the mood between Punk and Owens started to get a little tense. The pair dropped their mics as Nick Aldis and various officials jumped into the ring just in case things got physical. They didn’t, but the war of words continued off-mic. Cameras picked up some of it, but now, thanks to subtitles provided by Teffo on Twitter, we now know most of the rest of what was said.

The first part of the off-mic conversation between Owens and Punk began with the latter getting upset at the former for smiling at him. “You think it’s funny?” Punk asks, to which Owens replies, “Does it hurt your feelings that bad that I’m chuckling?” Punk admits that it really pisses him off, to which Owens sarcastically notes that he’s impressed that’s all it takes.

After arguing over whether it’s normal to get angry over someone laughing, Punk attempts to turn the tables on Owens by claiming, despite being set off by a smile, that he’s the one who knows how to push Punk’s buttons. KO stays on the smile, noting that he’s the one who set off the WWE Champion just by smiling at him.

“Keep It Professional”

As things continued to get more heated, the pair then start telling each other to “keep it professional”, each attempting to goad the other into making the first move so it gives them an excuse to fight back. That ends up being Owens who can’t help himself, shoving Punk. The two are then held back, at which point Punk asks to be let go so that he “can see how strong that neck is”. KO returned at SummerSlam after more than a year on the shelf recovering from a neck injury that, at certain points, looked like it might end his career.

Owens gives as good as he gets by asking Punk what exactly he’s going to do to his neck and then taking a shot at Punk’s Achilles heel by challenging him to hurt his neck before he takes out Punk’s knee. A clearly aggravated Punk then says, “let’s see how fast he can run” after he leaves the ring, and calls Owens a “fat piece of sh*t” as he walks back up the ramp.
