Throughout different eras of WWE, Brock Lesnar earned his place among the very best of all time within the company, becoming one of the most decorated world champions in the history of professional wrestling. Lesnar is a 10-time world champion, putting him in and around those with the most world title reigns – though some of these runs with the top gold were far better than others.

Whether it be character work, match quality, length of reign, or entertainment value, some of Lesnar’s world title reigns were a lot of fun, whereas others left a lot to be desired and could’ve been far better. Which WWE World Championship reign was his best?

Universal Championship (3rd Reign)

• Brock Lesnar cashed in the Money In The Bank contract.
• Fans were sick and tired of seeing Lesnar with the title.
• This was a pointless short reign as Universal Champion.

Despite Seth Rollins already defeating Brock Lesnar, WWE made the controversial call of having Lesnar win Money In The Bank, cash in his contract, and win back the Universal Championship.

This was ultimately a short one-month reign that featured no successful title defenses as he dropped the gold straight back to Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. This was pretty pointless and unnecessary.

WWE Championship (7th Reign)

• This was Brock Lesnar’s final reign as a world champion.
• He won the Elimination Chamber to win the WWE Title.
• Lesnar’s reign ended after 43 days at the hands of Roman Reigns.

Brock Lesnar, shortly following his title loss, won back the WWE Title in one of the worst Elimination Chamber matches ever, carrying the title through WrestleMania season with zero defenses before dropping the prize to Roman Reigns.

This was one of Lesnar’s most uninspiring and uninteresting reigns ever.

WWE Championship (6th Reign)

• The end of Big E’s reign was a frustrating one.
• Lesnar had a decent feud with Bobby Lashley.
• He held the WWE Championship for 27 days.

Brock Lesnar stepped in at the last minute to compete for the WWE Championship at the Day One event, ending the reign of Big E in a very disappointing booking decision. Lesnar’s personality around this time was fun, and his short program with Bobby Lashley worked well.

Lesnar would drop the gold within a month thanks to Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman, shocking fans as Lashley beat him at the Royal Rumble event.

WWE Championship (5th Reign)

• Lesnar’s win over Kofi Kingston is one of the worst WWE booking decisions ever.
• All of Lesnar’s defenses during this reign were bad.
• The only positive of his WWE Title reign was his loss.

In a horrendous booking decision, Brock Lesnar squashed Kofi Kingston in seven seconds to win the WWE Championship on SmackDown in what was a huge slap in the face to Kingston. Lesnar went on to have a horrible match with Cain Velasquez, a pointless squash match with Ricochet, and an enjoyable sprint with Rey Mysterio. Lesnar would also put in a phenomenal Royal Rumble display as the WWE Champion in the 2020 men’s match, but the booking side of this made little sense.

Lesnar lost the gold to Drew McIntyre in a bland match, bringing to an end one of his weaker world title reigns.

WWE Championship (2nd Reign)

• Brock Lesnar defeated Kurt Angle in a classic.
• Lesnar’s babyface run was up and down in 2003.
• He didn’t have any memorable WWE Title defenses.

After a big Royal Rumble win, Brock Lesnar went on to defeat Kurt Angle in a brilliant WrestleMania main event, winning his second WWE Title. Lesnar was very over as a babyface, but his feuds and presentation was far less interesting.

He only had a few defenses in his 118 day reign as WWE Champion, defeating the likes of John Cena and The Big Show before dropping the gold back to Angle, ending a pretty underwhelming reign.

Universal Championship (2nd Reign)

• Fans were unhappy with Brock Lesnar’s title win.
• He had several good matches during this Universal Championship reign.
• Part-time reigns were very annoying in WWE during this time period.

After Roman Reigns relinquished the Universal Title, fans let out a collective groan when WWE selected Brock Lesnar to pick back up the gold in his absence. The part-time nature of title reign wasn’t ideal, but his in-ring work was mostly strong.

Lesnar’s champion vs. champion match with Daniel Bryan was a match of the year candidate, his Royal Rumble title defense against Finn Balor is a hidden gem, and his loss to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania brought a feel-good moment. Fans were getting sick of Lesnar as Universal Champion, so the general response and atmosphere to his reign was mixed.

WWE Championship (3rd Reign)

• Brock Lesnar won a classic Iron Man match to become WWE Champion.
• Lesnar returned to being a heel in 2003.
• His loss to Eddie Guerrero was the best moment of his reign.

Brock Lesnar reverted back to being a heel in 2003 amidst his run in the world title scene on SmackDown, reigning for the third time as WWE Champion after defeating Kurt Angle in a 60-minute Iron Man match. This was a long reign with the gold at 150 days, featuring dominant wins over Paul London, The Undertaker, Hardcore Holly, and Shannon Moore, but no real memorable matches aside from his title win and title loss.

At No Way Out 2004, Lesnar dropped the gold to Eddie Guerrero in one of the best WWE Title matches ever. This might have been the night Lesnar lost the gold, but it elevated his reign as it was a very defining moment.

Universal Championship (1st Reign)

• This was Lesnar’s longest ever world title reign.
• He was Universal Champion for 503 days.
• Lesnar’s reign had positives and negatives.

Brock Lesnar beat Goldberg in a fun sprint at WrestleMania 33 to become the brand new Universal Champion, embarking on a near two-year reign with the title. During this time he had some fun feuds with Samoa Joe & Braun Strowman, a wild fatal four way at SummerSlam 2017, and a banger match at Survivor Series with AJ Styles. However, his feud with Roman Reigns was a consistent sour point as they had several poor matches including a horrendous WrestleMania 34 main event.

There was a lot of both good and bad during this title reign, but it was way too long and the part-time nature of it was jarring at times.

• He defeated The Rock in the main event of SummerSlam.
• Lesnar’s feud with The Undertaker featured great matches.

Brock Lesnar’s very first WWE Championship reign came just a few months into his run on the main roster, receiving one of the quickest pushes to the top in the history of WWE. He defeated one of WWE’s biggest stars in The Rock in the main event of SummerSlam, becoming a main event world beater in the process.

Lesnar’s reign had some ups and downs when it comes to storylines, but his pair of matches with The Undertaker were great, including a brutal Hell In A Cell matchup. Paul Heyman’s betrayal led to a shocking but ultimately underwhelming loss of the gold to The Big Show.

• All of Lesnar’s matches were memorable during this reign.
• Lesnar was presented as WWE’s most dominant heel.

On the back of ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, Brock Lesnar was presented as WWE’s most unstoppable force of nature. This led to a hugely memorable squash match victory over John Cena at SummerSlam 2014 in a stunning moment. Although Lesnar was a part-time champion, his presentation was flawless during this time and his title reign felt special.

He went on to have a match of the year candidate against Cena and Seth Rollins at the Royal Rumble and a hard-hitting show-stealer of a WrestleMania main event against Roman Reigns (which featured Rollins wild Money In The Bank cash-in).
