Former WWE Superstar Arrested Amid Accusations Of Sexual Exploitation

Saurav Gurjar, who wrestled under the ring name Sanga while competing in WWE, has been arrested in India and accused of sexual exploitation. The arrest comes following claims from a woman that Sanga has effectively been leading her on for the past half-decade, essentially ruining her life with alleged false promises.

Allegations Against Sanga

According to the Hindustan Times, Sanga was detained at Mumbai airport when returning to India following a trip to the Middle East on September 17. A Look Out Circular for Sanga had been issued, which effectively means airport security were waiting for him to return, readying for his arrest whenever they spotted him.

The arrest comes following accusations from a woman who claims she has been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Sanga since 2021. After meeting for the first time that Christmas, Sanga’s accuser claims the former WWE Superstar later told her he was already married. However, even after that, their relationship continued, and Sanga promised they would be together properly eventually, pledging to one day give her “wife-like rights”.

As their relationship continued, the woman claims that whenever she raised the subject of marriage, Sanga would block her and she’d lose contact with him for an extended period of time. The allegations against the wrestler/actor include the situation causing the accuser emotional distress and even financial loss. That’s due to them not only quitting their job in the US, but leaving the country and moving to India since she had allegedly been promised a new life with Sanga on the other side of the world.

What Law Is Sanga Accused Of Breaking?

It’s even alleged that Sanga and the woman lived together between October 2025 and March 2026, after which point Sanga left and, once again, cut off all communication. That has all now led to this, with Sanga facing potential charges under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically coercing sexual intercourse using deceitful means. In this case, those deceitful means are alleged promises of marriage and a new life that Sanga seemingly never intended to follow through with.

Although these laws don’t exist in the US and other Western countries, these allegations are pretty serious in India. If there’s any weight to the allegations and charges are brought against Sanga, the crimes he’s accused of carry a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

Sanga was under contract with WWE for six years, eventually getting released in 2024. Despite a lengthy stint with the company, he only wrestled ten matches. Sanga has continued to pursue an acting career since leaving WWE.
