WWE Raw results (9/7): Powell’s live review of Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship, Money in the Bank qualifiers

[Hour One] Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary. The Usos were shown arriving in the parking lot. Jey Uso had a baseball bat, and Jimmy Uso carried a lead pipe. Tessitore spoke about the possibility of the Usos retaliating, while Barrett wondered if they were protecting themselves…

Tessitore narrated backstage/arrival shots of “The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez, and Roxanne Perez, followed by Stephanie Vaquer…

A highlight video recapped Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker from Sunday Night’s Main Event, which featured the return of Bronson Reed…

The Vision’s Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and Maxxine Dupri made their entrance. Breakker declared that the Vision is complete and said they run WWE. An “Oba” chant broke out. Breakker said the fans could chant for Oba Femi all they wanted, but he wasn’t going to be there because he wasn’t medically cleared.

Breakker claimed that he showed he was the future of WWE, and said it was all thanks to Reed. Breakker and Reed hugged before Breakker handed over the microphone.

Reed said Oba thought he was untouchable, but he put him in the hospital. Reed said Oba called himself The Ruler, but sometimes you run into someone who doesn’t recognize the crown. Reed said they decide what happens in WWE.

Logan boasted that the Vision is unstoppable. Logan said it’s literally unfair. Theory took the mic and mocked the Oba chants. Theory said the fans hate to see them shine. Dupri spoke about jealousy until music interrupted her.

Akira Tozawa walked onto the stage. Theory laughed and asked if Tozawa knew where he was. Theory questioned how many times he needed to stomp Tozawa’s head in. Theory invited Tozawa to come to the ring. Tozawa said Theory would be fighting, but not against him.

Otis made his entrance, and then he and Tozawa headed to the ring…

1. Austin Theory (w/Maxxine Dupri, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul) vs. Otis (w/Akira Tozawa). There was an early “let’s go, Otis” chant. Both wrestlers ended up on the floor. Theory ran into Otis and fell to the floor before a commercial break. [C]

Otis had Theory down and was going for his Caterpillar move when the other Vision members attacked him to end the match.

Otis beat Austin Theory by DQ in 6:50.

Tozawa ran in to help, but he was put down. Breakker ran the ropes and speared Otis, who was dumped to the floor. Breakker and Theory held Tozawa while Reed hit him with a corner splash.

Oba Femi was shown walking through the backstage area. WWE producer Petey Williams followed and said Oba wasn’t medically cleared. Oba pie-faced Williams and eventually headed to the ring.

Oba cleared the Vision members from the ring. He removed his T-shirt and revealed tape over his ribs. Theory hit Oba with a chair from behind, but Oba no-sold it and cleared him from the ring. Breakker speared Oba, who clutched his ribs.

Reed hit Oba with a pair of Tsunamis. Producers and referees entered the ring. Breakker speared Oba, and then Reed hit him with another Tsunami. The Vision members stood over Oba. Reed put his foot on Oba’s back, but Oba shoved it off. The Vision exited the ring…

Powell’s POV: The opening segment was designed to put heat on The Vision and succeeded. They also made Oba look good by establishing that he wasn’t medically cleared, yet he still showed heart by walking into a situation where he was outnumbered. On a side note, WrestleTix listed the venue as being set up for 9,820, with 9,340 tickets distributed. The total number of seats on the map is 15,441. The last time WWE ran the venue, 10,327 tickets were distributed for the July 14, 2025 Raw show.

A black-and-white video featured Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price. Keys recalled saying that it’s not about family, it’s about loyalty. Keys introduced his allies and said, “Ain’t nobody safe.” He said they live in the streets, real life, and this is what they do. “946” appeared on the screen during the video…

The Usos were shown walking backstage with their weapons. Jacob Fatu stopped them and asked what they were going to do. Jey spoke about calling out Keys and his crew. Fatu said that’s exactly what they want them to do. Fatu said Keys, Nima, and Price had nothing to lose. Fatu said he understood the play because of where he comes from. Jey asked what they should do. Fatu said the best thing they could do is play it slow… [C]

Powell’s POV: The Oakland ZIP code starts with 946, so that’s likely what inspired the name.

Tessitore hyped AAA Triplemania 34…

Becky Lynch entered Stephanie Vaquer’s dressing room. Vaquer questioned why Lynch was there. Lynch spoke about Vaquer returning to Chile for a show and encouraged her to accept help. Vaquer took offense at the idea that she would owe Lynch something. Vaquer said she respects Lynch, but she wouldn’t ask for her help. Lynch told her to go back to Chile as a loser…

Jackie Redmond interviewed comedian Matt Mathews, who was in the crowd and got some cheers from his hometown fans. Mathews spoke about growing up a fan of the Attitude Era. “Really?” The Miz said over the house mic.

The Miz mocked the Alabama fans while Kit Wilson walked with him. Miz and Wilson approached Mathews, who was in the front row. Mathews asked who Miz was. Wilson called Mathews toxic. Mathews said he thought Miz retired. Miz attacked Mathews and threw him inside the ring. Wilson entered the ring and was put down by a Mathews head scissors. Miz hit Mathews with the Skull Crushing Finale… [C]

Bron Breakker was in the ring after the break. The end of Ethan Page’s entrance was televised, and then Rey Mysterio made his entrance while ring announcer Alicia Taylor introduced him…

2. Bron Breakker vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Ethan Page in a Triple Threat men’s Money in the Bank qualifier. The men’s and women’s MITB briefcases were hanging above the ring. Rey went for a 619 on Page, but Breakker was on the floor and blocked it. Breakker dumped Rey over the barricade.

Moments later, Breakker jumped off the apron and clotheslined Page, who was on the broadcast table. Breakker sat on the broadcast table and played to the crowd. Rey climbed onto the barricade and hit Breakker with a West Coast Pop on the desk. [C]

Breakker had both opponents on the floor when he ran around the ring and went for a double spear, but Rey and Page moved, causing Breakker to crash into the ring steps. Rey and Page returned to the ring, where Rey got a couple of near falls.

Rey went for a dropkick, but Page held the ropes. Page picked up Rey and then slammed him to the mat before getting a near fall of his own. Rey came right back and hit Page with a 619. Rey went up top. Breakker grabbed Rey from the floor. Rey fought him off.

Page joined Rey on the ropes. Page put Rey on his shoulders. Rey fought back. Breakker returned to the ring and performed a Frankensteiner that pulled both opponents off the ropes. Breakker cleared Page from the ring and then speared and pinned Rey…

Bron Breakker beat Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page in a Triple Threat in 12:00 to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Powell’s POV: The graphic listed Breakker as the first of six entrants in the men’s MITB match. With the Vision’s domination being the story of the first hour, Breakker was the obvious choice to go over, especially once they established that Oba Femi was injured.

A teaser for the Mr. T documentary on Netflix spotlighted his involvement at the first WrestleMania…

Backstage, LA Knight spoke with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce. Knight demanded to face the winner of next week’s Roman Reigns vs. Penta match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Pearce agreed and added that his word is good.

Solo Sikoa, who had a bandage on his forehead, showed up after Pearce walked away. Knight said a lot was going on and asked if Solo was good. Solo said he was, and then said he knows how dangerous Royce Keys is. Solo asked if Knight had his back. Knight said he did, but he said they should wait things out and then pick the bones. “With all due respect, I don’t know if I can wait,” Solo said…

[Hour Two] [C] A Penta promo video aired with subtitles. He said that beating Roman Reigns seems impossible to some, but he’s been doing impossible things all his life. He spoke about Mexico City and the match being held in front of friends and family. Penta said Reigns would be going against an entire country that will be cheering for him…

A graphic listed Reigns vs. Penta for the World Heavyweight Championship for next week’s Raw in Mexico City. Tessitore and Barrett sat at their desk and spoke about the match. They shifted the focus to Lyra Valkyria interfering when Sol Ruca challenged for the Women’s Intercontinental Title last week…

Sol Ruca made her entrance for the women’s MITB qualifier… [C] A Lola Vice vignette aired to promote her Raw debut for next week in Mexico City… A graphic noted that every women’s MITB winner has successfully cashed in to win a championship…

3. Sol Ruca vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Maxxine Dupri in a Triple Threat women’s Money in the Bank qualifier. Valkyria and Dupri’s entrances were not televised. The crowd was quiet, and Valkyria was in offensive control. [C]

The crowd was livelier coming out of the break. Dupri was bridging while pinning Ruca when Valkyria took out her knees. Valkyria dumped Dupri to the floor. Dupri returned to the ring and performed a double move that left both opponents down.

A short time later, Valkyria hit her Nightwing finisher on Dupri and had her pinned, but Bayley showed up and pulled the referee out of the ring. Ruca hit Valkyria with a Sol Snatcher before pinning her.

Sol Ruca beat Lyra Valkyria and Maxxine Dupri in a Triple Threat in 11:40 to qualify for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

Afterward, Bayley attacked Valkyria, who rolled out of the ring. Vaylor followed and then hoisted up Valkyria and dumped her on the floor. Bayley cleared the broadcast table while the fans chanted her name. Bayley got Valkyria on top of the broadcast table and set up for a move, but Valkyria escaped and then hopped the barricade…

A Bronco Nima and Lucien Price video aired. They said they were outside the building, but no one was around. Royce Keys popped up and told Jacob Fatu to let the two bitches off their leash…

Backstage, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso were ready to fight, but Jacob Fatu said that’s what Keys wanted them to do. Fatu told the Usos they had to trust him on this one. Jey said they had their location and asked if they were supposed to sit back and be disrespected after Keys called them bitches. Fatu said blood would be spilt again and asked them to trust him. Jey said they trusted him. Jimmy put his pipe down and sat back on a couch…

Joe Hendry was featured in a video that played up the idea that a giant Funko Pop is JD McDonagh’s real father due to the size of his head…

Powell’s POV: I thought this video was a groaner, but they didn’t include any crowd noise while it was shown, so there’s no telling how the live crowd reacted.

JD McDonagh made his entrance with Dominik Mysterio… [C]

4. Joe Hendry vs. JD McDonagh (w/Dominik Mysterio). The end of Hendry’s entrance was televised. The fans chanted “Funko” at McDonagh (so that answers the question about their reaction to the video). Hendry hit a fallaway slam, but McDonagh dropped him with a headbutt.

Je’Von Evans’ entrance theme played, and he came out wearing the giant McDonagh head worn by the “father” character in Hendry’s video. Dom ran to the stage to confront Evans, who headbutted him (with the giant head). In the ring, Hendry hit the Standing Ovation and pinned McDonagh.

Joe Hendry beat JD McDonagh in 3:45.

Powell’s POV: Evans went from showing a mean streak during his match against Big Cass to wearing a giant Funko head tonight. Ugh.

A video package focused on the Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer feud…

Becky Lynch was walking backstage when she encountered Liv Morgan, who asked if she was listening to her advice about going home and being a good mommy. Morgan said she worried for a minute that Lynch and Vaquer might team up to take her out, but then she remembered that Lynch is selfish and no one likes her. Morgan took a verbal jab at Lynch’s husband and then did her “all-time” bit before walking away. Lynch thought about going after her, but then stopped herself and headed toward the exit door…

Tessitore hyped the Women’s World Championship match… [C]

Paul Heyman was shown standing with The Vision in a backstage area. Maxxine Dupri asked if Heyman saw what “our boys” did to Oba Femi. Heyman hugged Bronson Reed and said he shook the WWE Universe on his first night back and went even bigger on his second night. Heyman told Reed that he’s very, very proud of him.

Breakker told Heyman that Oba is finished and his brother is back. Breakker said the future of WWE is secured. Heyman asked Breakker if Oba was still breathing. Heyman walked away while Breakker’s demeanor changed…

Entrances for the Women’s World Championship match took place…

5. Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship. None of the Judgment Day members were in Morgan’s corner to start the match. Vaquer set up for the Devil’s Kiss, but Morgan rolled to the floor. Vaquer hit her with a crossbody block off the apron before an early break. [C]

Vaquer performed the Devil’s Kiss. Vaquer followed up with a meteora before covering Morgan for a near fall. The usual cardboard pizza company was credited with Raw coverage continuing. Vaquer roughed up Morgan on the floor and then cleared the broadcast table. Vaquer returned to the ring to break the count and rolled right back to the floor, where Morgan hit her and then slammed her head on the broadcast table.

[Hour Three] Morgan climbed onto the broadcast table and played to the crowd for heat. Vaquer tripped Morgan and then performed a Devil’s Kiss on top of the broadcast table while fans counted along. Morgan rolled back inside the ring. Vaquer went up top and hit a crossbody block for a near fall. A “this is awesome” chant broke out.

Vaquer went to the ropes. Morgan cut her off on the middle rope and then powerbombed her and got a two count. Morgan used a crucifix to get another near fall. Morgan yelled and then looked at one of her fingers before shaking her left hand.

Vaquer came back with an SVP and covered Morgan for a near fall. Vaquer hit a butterfly lungblower. Vaquer went up top. Roxanne Perez showed up and distracted the referee while Raquel Rodriguez shoved Vaquer off the ropes. The referee ejected Rodriguez.

Becky Lynch ran out and shoved Rodriguez into the ring post. Perez slid the title belt to Morgan. The referee watched Lynch chase Perez over the barricade for some reason, and then Morgan hit Vaquer with the title belt and pinned her…

Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer in roughly 17:00 to retain the Women’s World Championship.

Powell’s POV: They were given more time than I anticipated, and it was fun until the usual Judgment Day interference.

A Big Cass vignette aired. He spoke about stacking bodies since he returned, but said he’s really back to win titles. He said he looks like a champion and is everything a champion should be. He said people ask who he is wherever he goes. Cass said that soon enough, they will all find out…

The broadcast team listed the following matches for next week’s Raw in Mexico City: Chad Gable vs. Dragon Lee for the Intercontinental Title, NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan vs. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez vs. Lola Vice in a Money in the Bank qualifier, Je’Von Evans vs. Big Cass vs. Austin Theory in a Money in the Bank qualifier, and Roman Reigns vs. Penta for the World Heavyweight Championship…

Powell’s POV: It’s cool that Kelani Jordan is going to be featured in a MITB qualifier. I’m guessing that this is a one-off for the time being, as Jordan holds the NXT Women’s Championship, and the hype has been for Lola Voice’s debut.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso mockingly asked Jacob Fatu if his play was to hide all night. Jey said hell no. Jey asked Fatu if he was riding with them or not. The Usos made their entrance holding their weapons from earlier, and Jacob Fatu followed them to the ring… [C]

The Usos and Jacob Fatu were in the ring. Jey said that they were in the ring and asked if anyone had the balls to step up.

Royce Keys was shown in the arena’s parking lot and pointed out a bunch of bodies on the ground. Bronco Nima was on top of an SUV, and Lucien Price was standing next to it. Keys asked if the car belonged to the Usos. On Keys’ cue, Nima and Price smashed the SUV’s windows with crowbars. Price handed Nima a gas can, which he poured into the SUV through the sunroof.

“Y’all said I was crazy,” Keys said before flicking a lighter. “Nah.” Keys tossed the lighter through one of the SUV’s windows, which ignited the vehicle in flames. “Like I said, ain’t nobody safe,” said Keys. The Usos and Fatu looked upset in the ring while the fans chanted “OTC” and the executive producer credits appeared. The burning car was shown again before the show concluded…

Powell’s POV: Keys, Nima, and Price are off to a good start. The storyline would play better if they were feuding with babyfaces, but no one seems to know who the Bloodline faction members are from week to week. Nevertheless, I’m intrigued by the 946 trio and see some interesting storyline possibilities ahead.

Overall, it was good for the show to be back live after a taped Raw and two weeks of taped SmackDown shows. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the ad-free episodes, but the fans were more energetic during tonight’s live show than they were during any of the taped episodes.
