Jasper Troy Reportedly Released By WWE Amid NXT Cuts Wrestling News Source – Latest WWE, AEW, Pro Wrestling News, Sunday Night’s Main Event Results

Jasper Troy has reportedly left WWE as the company continues to make changes to its NXT roster.

PWInsider confirmed Troy’s departure and reported that further NXT releases are taking place. However, no main roster wrestlers are currently expected to be affected.

Troy appeared to hint at the news on Friday when he posted “30 Days” alongside a black heart on X. The message was pinned to the top of his profile.

Although Troy did not explain the post, 30 days is understood to be the standard non-compete period for released NXT talent. WWE has not publicly announced his departure, while Troy has yet to directly confirm it himself.

There may have been an earlier sign that something was changing. Following the September 1 episode of NXT, Troy wrote about giving everything to professional wrestling without expecting anything in return. He also promised that he would eventually receive what he believed he deserved.

The 28-year-old joined WWE in August 2022 after previously playing college football for the University of Kansas and the University of Northern Iowa.

Standing six foot five and weighing 340 pounds, Troy made his in-ring debut at an NXT live event in May 2023. His first televised appearance followed in 2024.

His biggest breakthrough arrived in 2025 when he won the first season of WWE LFG on A&E. Mentored by Booker T, Troy defeated Shiloh Hill in the final before returning to NXT and attacking then-champion Oba Femi.

That moment led to an NXT Championship match between Troy and Femi in June.

Troy later captured the WWE Speed Championship after defeating El Grande Americano on November 11. He held the title for 105 days and successfully defended it against Tavion Heights before losing to Elio LeFleur in a triple threat match on February 24.

He reunited with Booker T in March after attacking Keanu Carver during a Booker T Appreciation Night segment.

The Speed Championship has since been retired. WWE originally introduced the Speed titles in 2024 as part of its partnership with X, but the concept changed after the matches moved to NXT. The women’s title was unified with the NXT Women’s North American Championship at Heatwave on August 30.

Troy’s final televised NXT match took place on June 9, when he lost to Dion Lennox. He remained active at untelevised events, although reports differ over his final WWE appearance.

F4WOnline lists an August 22 NXT live event in Gainesville, Florida, where Troy teamed with Elijah Holyfield to defeat Shido Ash and Viktor Zanov. Other reports suggest his last match took place during a Main Event taping on August 17.

Troy’s reported release has surprised many fans. He was still only 28, had won a WWE-produced television competition and had held a championship within the previous year. Some viewers believed a move to the main roster could be in his future.

His lengthy absence from NXT television now carries greater significance. Troy went from challenging for the brand’s biggest championship to spending around three months away from televised matches.

WWE has not addressed his absence or reported departure on television.
