NXT TV results (8/25): Moore’s review of the Heatwave go-home show with Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars in a Weaponized Steel Cage match, Rey Fenix vs. EK Prosper for the AAA Cruiserweight Title

[Hour One] Arrival shots were shown of Rey Fenix, EK Prosper, Tony D’Angelo, Kendal Grey, and Wren Sinclair… They then cut to shots of the weapons inside of the steel cage for the opening match…

Vic Joseph and Booker T were on commentary. Mike Rome was the ring announcer. Sarah Schreiber and Blake Howard were the backstage interviewers…

Entrances for the opening match took place…

1. Dion Lennox vs. Saquon Shugars in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match. Both men immediately traded hands to open the match. Shugars had the advantage initially. Shugars got control after beating down Shugars with a chair. Dion then tossed Shugars several times into the steel cage. Dion took off Saquon’s belt and started whipping Saquon with it. Dion power bombed Shugars on a steel chair.

Dion worked on Saquon with methodical offense. Saquon chucked a trash can into the gut of Dion and then put the can over him. Shugars hit the can with the can lid while Dion was in it. Sasuon gave the can and Dion a Missile Dropkick for a nearfall. Saquon worked on Dion’s lower back with a steel chair. Dion got the advantage back with a throat shot. Dion set up a chair on top of a set up chair and then body slammed Saquon on it.[c]

Back from break, Shugars tossed Dion several times into the steel cage to turn the tables on him. Saquon landed on his feet off a backdrop and gave Dion a diving crossbody. Shugars whipped Dion throat first into the tip of a kendo stick. Saquon slammed Dion for a two count. Dion tripped Saquon off the top rope to cause him to fall on a chair. Dion gave Saquon a spinebuster through a trash can for a nearfall.

Dion used kendo sticks to hold a chair up against the cage. This allowed Saquon to recover and beat up Dion with a baseball bat. Dion chucked a chair into Saquon’s knee. Dion put Saquon in a tree of woe and hit Saquon in the knee cap for a nearfall. Dion put Saquon in a bat assisted Deathlock. Saquon used a trash lid to escape the hold. Dion set up a table to hype up the crowd. Saquon slammed Dion’s face into a trash lid hung near the top rope.

Saquon put Dion on a table with the trash can on him. The table broke earlier than expected. Saquon climbed to the top of the cage and hit him with a Crossbody from the top of the cage for the victory.

Saquon Shugars defeated Dion Lennox via pinfall in 14:45.
