Japanese broadcaster ABEMA confirms end of WWE relationship later this month – POST Wrestling
Japanese broadcaster ABEMA has alerted viewers that its relationship with WWE will conclude at the end of September.
The broadcaster issued the following statement on Tuesday:
We will be discontinuing the distribution of WWE content (RAW / SMACKDOWN / all PLE events) on ABEMA as of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The last broadcast will be RAW on Tuesday, September 29. Thank you to everyone who has watched WWE on ABEMA until now. We hope you will continue to support ABEMA.
We sincerely thank everyone who has watched WWE on ABEMA up until now. We appreciate your continued support for ABEMA.
The entities entered into an agreement in 2023 allowing Raw and SmackDown to air in the country along with all its premium live events with Japanese commentary for the shows.
ABEMA served as WWE’s return to a Japanese broadcaster after ending a two-decade partnership with J Sports in 2021.
WWE’s latest trip to Japan occurred in October 2025 with back-to-back nights at Ryogoku Kokugikan a.k.a. Sumo Hall.
