Action Andretti joins stable, wins TV title at ROH Death Before Dishonor

It was a big night for Action Andretti.

Thanks to help from the Opps, Andretti defeated former tag team partner Lio Rush to win the ROH Television title at Death Before Dishonor on Friday. Towards the end of the Fight Without Honor the lights went out, and when they turned back on Hook appeared in front of Rush and gave him a side suplex. He and Anthony Bowens continued to interfere, even though Rush was able to kick out at one after being put through a table filled with glass. But eventually the numbers game was too much and Andretti scored the pin over Rush after the lights, camera, action.

After the match, Andretti posed with his new friends as they made their exit. Rush recovered ad focused on a black box, taking out what appeared to be a black heart. He drank the contents inside the heart to end the segment.

The road to Death Before Dishonor

Rush had held the title for 72 days, defeating AR Fox back at Global Wars Cincinnati on June 11. He and Andretti were at one point tag team partners, but once Rush adopted his new Blackheart gimmick, the two grew apart and soon started to feud.

The leader of the Opps, Samoa Joe, has been gone from television to film his role in the Twisted Metal TV series. He has left Hook in charge of the group during his absences, but the group hasn’t been seen on television in recent weeks.
