WWE SmackDown tops 15,000 tickets distributed in Toronto tonight – POST Wrestling
WWE will have one of its largest television audiences of the year tonight as SmackDown returns to Toronto.
WrestleTix reports that tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown at the Scotiabank Arena has topped 15,000 tickets distributed. The figure makes it among the biggest audiences for either Raw or SmackDown this year.
The March 30 edition of Raw from Madison Square Garden tops the list for the year with 17,906 tickets distributed, followed by the January 26 edition of Raw (also from Toronto) with 16,095. Within eight months, WWE will draw over 30,000 in Toronto at the arena.
There is also the January 30 edition of Friday Night SmackDown from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported at 18,200, but the figures in Saudi Arabia are tougher to verify.
The show is promoted around CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens.
