The following matches are advertised for the NXT Heatwave premium live event on Sunday, August 30, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.

-Tony D’Angelo vs. Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller vs. Zilla Fatu in a four-way for the NXT Championship

-Kendal Grey vs. Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s Championship match

-Myles Borne and Tavion Heights vs. Brad Baylor and Rick Smokes for the NXT Tag Team Titles

-Myles Borne vs. Jackson Drake for the NXT North American Championship

-NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria vs. WWE Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair in a unification match

Powell’s POV: Tony D’Angelo was scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against the winner of last week’s Cruz Montana vs. Grayson Waller match, but it ended in a no-contest when Zilla Fatu interfered. Robert Stone decided that Montana and Waller will both challenge for the title. Stone later revealed that Zilla Fatu’s contract includes a shot at the NXT Championship. Fatu announced that he was using that contract to turn the Triple Threat into a four-way.

NXT Heatwave will air live on The CW and stream on ESPN Unlimited at 2CT/3ET. The show will follow the AAA Ola de Calor event that will be held that morning in the same venue. Both shows are running head-to-head with the AEW All In London pay-per-view event.
