The first two matches for NXT Heatwave is set.

Kelani Jordan will finally get her shot at the NXT Women’s Championship following a segment that took place on Tuesday. Kali Armstrong was in the ring arguing for a title match when Jordan cut her off, also insisting she should get a shot.

Kendal Grey, still selling the injured ear from last week’s NXT Underground match, came out and revealed she had talked to GM Robert Stone. Grey said that she was tired of hearing Jordan complain about not getting a shot, so she agreed to put the title on the line at a date of Jordan’s choosing. The former TNA Knockouts Champion chose Heatwave, which will take place on August 30.

Meanwhile, a North American title match between Zaria and Wren Sinclair was interrupted by a brawl between Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox, allowing Zaria to pin Sinclair via distraction. Robert Stone was skeptical about another match, but agreed after Sinclair offered a match to unify the women’s Speed title and the Women’s North American title.

In the main event, a match between Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana was originally set to determine Tony D’Angelo’s challenger for Heatwave. However, the match was thrown out after Zilla Fatu made his debut and attacked both men, leaving D’Angelo’s next opponent up in the air.
